The band originally formed as Malice then changing their name to Easy Cure in 1977 before finally settling on the name The Cure in 1978, consisted of Robert Smith (vocals, guitar), Pearl "Porl" Thompson (guitar), Michael Dempsey (bass), and Laurence "Lol" Tolhurst (drums), with the band's lineup undergoing several changes throughout the years and Smith remaining as the only constant member throughout the band's history.
